[FUGSPBR] Failed to open /dev/io for extended I/O

Bom Dia pessoal !!
Instalei o Free 5.0-RELEASE na minha máquina, e também o kde3 !!
Ocorreu tudo bem, iniciei o kde sem problemas, o XFree86 estava normal.
Reiniciei a máquina e quando fui tentar entrar de novo, ele me retornou o 
seguinte erro:
Fatal server error:
xf86EnableIO: Failed to open /dev/io for extended I/O

Acho que é um problema com esse device ... mas não consegui entender o que 
houve :( 
Será que alguém faz idéia do que possa ter ocontecido, e qual seia a solução 
para o problema ?!

Obs: Meu kernel tinha sido recompilado antes da instalçao do KDE/XFree86.
