  Note: If there is not a /usr/src/sys directory on your system, then the
kernel source has not been installed. The easiest way to do this is by
running /stand/sysinstall as root, choosing Configure, then Distributions,
then src, then sys. If you have an aversion to sysinstall and you have
access to an ``official'' FreeBSD CDROM, then you can also install the
source from the command line:

# mount /cdrom
# mkdir -p /usr/src/sys
# ln -s /usr/src/sys /sys
# cat /cdrom/src/ssys.[a-d]* | tar -xzvf -

Está acontecendo algo muito estranho:

ontem comecei a montar uma nova maquina com Free 5.1 para hospedar alguns
serviços. agora estou, via ssh, querendo acertar o kernel e começar as
instalacoes dos pacotes, mas vejam que estranho:

free# cd /usr/src
/usr/src: No such file or directory.

no entanto, se dou um locate GENERIC, olhe o que é listado:

free# locate GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/alpha/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/alpha/conf/GENERIC.hints
/usr/src/sys/amd64/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/amd64/conf/GENERIC.hints
/usr/src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC.hints
/usr/src/sys/ia64/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/ia64/conf/GENERIC.hints
/usr/src/sys/pc98/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/pc98/conf/GENERIC.hints
/usr/src/sys/powerpc/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/sparc64/conf/GENERIC
/usr/src/sys/sparc64/conf/GENERIC.hints

ou seja, os src estão todos lá, mas nao consigo entrar. Estou logado com
super user.

Alguma ideia?
