Veja o editor "ted" que está no ports (/usr/ports/editors/ted). Olha o
pkg-descr:

Ted 2.17 is a text editor running under X Windows on Unix/Linux systems.

Teriam outras formas, como instalar o tetex, aí usar o rtf2latex e
depois o pdflatex.
