[FUG-BR] Problema com acesso a CDROM/DVD externo(USB)

ola,

tenho um gravador de DVD LG 4160B e nao consigo que
ele funcione com o FreeBSD 6.0. O que diz pra testar
no handbook ta ok:

=> dmesg
cd0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0

mas quando eu tento gravar algo:
growisofs -dry-run -speed=2 -Z /dev/cd0 -V "lalala" .
:-( unable to GET CONFIGURATION: Input/output error
:-( non-MMC unit?

ja tentei sem o dry-run e da a mesma coisa.
nem monta cdrom:

mount /dev/cd0 /cdrom/
mount: /dev/cd0 on /cdrom: incorrect super block

os detalhes do hardware:

Toshiba Tecra M3 S336
LG DVDRW 4160B
Vipower 6228P USB 2.0
