[FUGSPBR] geom_gate

Bom dia povo,

estou com dificuldades em usar o geom (para testes).. troquei uma ideia com 
o Pawel (gente boa, respondeu prontamente meu mail) e ele me respondeu 
assim:

Ahh. Don't use the tarball. GEOM Gate is already committed.
I'm not sure it will work with 5.2.1, but I'm sure this tarball won't work
correctly. You can try to get GEOM Gate from -CURRENT and try to run on
5.2.1.

meu sistema:

*default release=cvs tag=RELENG_5_2 
devo mudar para:
*default release=cvs tag=.
para ter o current segundo ele solicitou?
ps.: primeira vez q uso o FreeBSD5... jah uso o FreeBSD4 desde a 4_2

notei q no source do kernel tem o geom (/usr/src/sys/geom) mas nao vejo o 
ggd nem o ggc muito menos o ggctl na area... o amigo Pawel diz pra eu nao 
usar o tar porque o tar tah zuado. 

alguém pode dar uma mão ae?
