Obrigado pela resposta Nilson.
É que meu servidor parece não reconhecer os 4GB. conforme sysctl -a | 
grep Mem


Virtual Memory: (Total: 590K, Active 158708K)
Real Memory: (Total: 128152K Active 69784K)
Shared Virtual Memory: (Total: 20928K Active: 11992K)
Shared Real Memory: (Total: 14480K Active: 8740K)

*Note:* The PAE support in FreeBSD is only available for Intel IA-32 
processors. It should also be noted, that the PAE support in FreeBSD has 
not received wide testing, and should be considered beta quality 
compared to other stable features of FreeBSD.

Estou confuso.
